a bubble hand gone wrong....

emptyseat88 got lucky, but this hand was played well... although i wished i had folded after the hand... but the long term +ev is pretty big here. there is a certain way to play on the bubble, there are spots when we have to push any 2 cards every hand, there are times we have to fold hands that are a good sized favorite because of the little stack still in. we determine all of these decisions with ICM....

in this hand we have the short stack but he called the big stack's push, and i am sitting on a descent amount of chips, but had to call as well.... to help to big stack bust fischman.

what do we honestly think buzzer1404's pushing range here is? he has been very aggressive, and he now has the chip lead, which makes me think he will be even more aggressive.

in the above screen shot, we gave buzzer a 50% pushing range, which i honestly believe to be low, i would think he pushes 65%-100% here. i have emptyseat88 with a calling range of 100%, and i think with scott fischman that is possible, but maybe i should had lowered it. look at how huge the diff% is... with these settings we cant even think of folding here. but.........

not a big difference if we tighten him up....

now i have been thinking what if (i know he wasn't though) buzzer1404 was playing very tight for the situation....

as you see, it is still a call if he is pushing just 13.5%.

i think this was a good hand to go over, just because i feel a lot of people miss value here..... but to some of you it may be another retard post.. lol

in a few days, i might post a hand against a real B&M pro, well not sure how good she is supposed to be, but she has a red name on FTP.....

and an email response from FTP when i asked them to bless my account after a bad few days.

Hey sprstoner,

Are you only calling here because Fischman called as well? So if buzzer pushes but Fischman folds are you still calling? Your basically calling just to try and increase the chances of knocking out Scott?

If I run this hand in power tools with Fishman folding then it looks like you need QQ+ to call.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Actually Gigabet would need QQ+ and you would need TT+, AKs ...

Yes, stoner would have to fold his AQo if fischman had not called.

Really enjoy your blog stoner. Thanks again for the interesting and informative posts.

My first impression with this hand was that why was it a call? So on reflection I realised that Scotts call made it a call and it was a fold if Scott folded. I am gald that this was pointed out and explained and confirmed. Cheers!
